Healing Trauma Through Christian Therapy

When most people come to therapy, they're looking to feel some restoration of self. Because distressing events can leave one feeling shattered, I marinate in the mind-body-spirit approach.
Christian therapy offers a unique perspective on trauma recovery because of the expectation in the framework that not a single one of us is perfect. There's plenty of room for human shortcomings, doubts, and desire for wholeness. There's no one-size-fits all approach for any therapy. I find that, as a Christian counselor, my perspective fosters this belief because faith looks different for each person I've supported.
My faith shows up in the room when you feel loved, seen, and heard. Because that's exactly how Jesus makes people feel.
Outside of that, faith has little to do with your treatment. Unless you want to bring yours in the room, too.
I base sessions and skills off of evidence based trainings that I've been trained in. These include: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Enhancement Therapy (CET), Complex Trauma modalities (CCTP), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
